Drive Category Descriptions – Motivation Application

Drive Application

This section of the diagnostic measures what actually happens at the gym or at practice. It is one thing to desire to achieve performance goals, it is another to actually do the hard work required. For example, if it is your intention to set dietary restrictions when you choose your meals but you do not actually stick to regime then you have not applied the desire category of your approach. The following categories are used to target different areas of application when it comes to following through on life approach.

This category measures a person’s ability to self-motivate when undertaking a physical conditioning program. A person with a high score is accustomed to working hard in the gym once training begins.

This category measures a person’s ability to be diligent when exercising and completing workouts. A high score in this category indicates that a person would follow workout plans closely once a workout strategy has been developed.

Self-Regulation

This category measures the ability of a person to self-regulate in life. A high score indicates a person who is able to manage to stay on a diet or course of action. You have a set of rules that you live by. If you score very high in this area you are able to maintain a high degree of discipline be that in your approach to your diet, exercise or general life strategy.

Competitiveness - Athletic Motivation Application - 3D Mental Fitness Diagnostic

Competitiveness

This category measures a person’s drive to be athletically competitive. It also measures a person’s tendency to push towards improving his or her personal level of ability. People may score lower on this section if they are unaccustomed to competition or if they are more comfortable training at their own pace. This is a relative measure; high or low scores only denote different approaches to physical conditioning.

Stress Management

This category measures a person’s ability to release stress through exercise. A high score in this area indicates a person’s increased ability to cope with stress because of good levels of physical conditioning.

This category measures a person’s self-esteem and overall level of confidence. A high score in this area demonstrates a high level of confidence, which suggests a person who is healthy both physically and psychologically.
